2010 Rally Indonesia CANCELLED

The abnormality weather condition for the last few months in Makassar region
impacted severely the rally route which had already being designed by the organizer, more over the organizer is advised by the weather forecast authority that this heavy rain pattern will continue till the days that the rally will be organized. The rally route is impossible to be used now and likely in the days the rally supposed to be organized.

The unfortunate situation was consulted to IMI ( Indonesia Motor Sport Governing Body) to resolve the matters accordingly - The Rally Organizer and IMI had reached agreement to propose to FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship to re-allocate Rally Indonesia to Paser Penajam, Kalimantan Timur, subsequently the Rally Organizer consulted the situation with FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship for the possibility to move the event to the Penajam Paser Utara & Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur which Indonesia National Rally Championship had been held for the last 3 years.

Following up the consultation with the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship, the Rally Organizer arrange the permits from the authority, the estate owner which the road is planned to be used for the new venue of the rally and addressing logistic issue with the shipping and custom clearance agent - regretfully the custom authority in Balikpapan – Kalimantan Timur is unable to accommodate the demand  on the custom clearance in timely manner , so such that the Rally cargoes will be arriving on time to participate in the next FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship in China.

With the  above given situation, the organizer has no other alternative in continuing to organize Rally Indonesia 2010, therefore due to the force major situation on the abnormality of the weather condition in Makassar and unable to address the custom clearance issue in the propose new rally area in Balikpapan - Kalimantan Timur - Rally Indonesia 2010, 6th round of FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship is cancelled.

The  organizer will work closely with the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship handling agent to ensure that the rally cargoes which on the way or already in Indonesia will be forwarded to the next round of FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship on time.

Our sincere appreciation to FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship for their co-operation in such difficult and unfortunate situation and thank you for the support being given to us by the all parties concerned to Rally Indonesia 2010.

We shall come back to organize RALLY INDONESIA for FIA ASIA PACIFIC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP round in 2011.
